Pierre Elias, MD
“What happens when a generation of people grow up with this as their expectation of a doctor’s visit? We deserve better technology in health care.”
Pierre Elias is a cardiology fellow at Columbia University’s Irving Medical Center, where he is researching the use of machine learning to improve care for cardiac patients.
With his background in tech, Elias ultimately decided to go to medical school where he could apply his informatics knowledge to a field where it could save lives. Along with practicing cardiology and seeing patients, Pierre conducts research in health informatics in order to make better use of existing healthcare data, and he works with the New York-Presbyterian information center and venture capital groups to improve technologies in the hospital.
Elias completed his MD at Duke University School of Medicine, and his residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University.
